Personal Confession |
|
One of the most important tools of obtaining the Victorious Life is the practice of confession. The Greek word "confession" {homologia} is comprised of two words: "homo" - meaning same, and "logia" - meaning Word. When we make a confession, we are saying the same thing as the Word says. That is how we actually received the new birth at salvation when we "confessed with our mouths, that Jesus Christ is Lord and believed in our hearts that God raised Him from the dead." Romans 10:9.
In lieu of this, we should incorporate the practice of a positive confession into our daily lives. The Bible says in Psalms 62:11 "God hath spoken once; twice have I heard this; that power belongeth unto God. If God only said it once, who said it the second time? The Psalmist. That's confession. Saying what God has said. Is not the "power of life and death in the tongue"? Proverbs 18:21
I encourage you, make this confession a part of your daily meditation, and see the blood-bought rights that belong to you come to pass in your life.

Jesus is Lord over my spirit, soul, and body (Phil. 2:9-11)
The Lord is my shepherd. I do not want. My God supplies all my need according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus. (Psalm 23, Philippians 4:19)
I do not fret or have anxiety about anything. (Philippians 4:6, 1 Peter 5:6,7)
I am the Body of Christ. I am redeemed from the curse, because Jesus bore my sicknesses and carried my diseases in His own body. By His stripes I am healed. I forbid any sickness or disease to operate in my body. Every organ, every tissue of my body functions in the perfection in which God created it to function. I honor God and bring glory to Him in my body. (Galatians 3:13, Matthew 8:17, 1 Peter 2:24)
I have the mind of Christ and hold the thoughts, feelings, and purposes of His heart. (1 Corinthians 2:16)
I tread upon serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy. I take my shield of faith and quench his every fiery dart. Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world. (Psalms 91:13, Ephesians 6:16, Romans 8:2)
I hear the voice of the Good Shepherd. I hear my Father's voice, and the voice of a stranger I will not follow. God will cause my thoughts to become agreeable to His will and so shall my plans be established and succeed. (John 10:27, Proverbs 16:3)
I am a believer and not a doubter. I hold fast to my confession of faith. I walk by faith. My faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God. (Hebrews 4:14, Hebrews 11:6, Romans 10:17)
